Stay Single … Stay Free

Bismillah,

So alhamdulillah, this very last summer a few (actually a lot) of my brothers got married…. mashaAllah.

I went to their wedding.. we laughed, we ate, and we went home…. I could see the happiness on their faces mashaAllah…

BUT

i thought about it more… and I started to compare between married life and single life… and i came across a few interesting thoughts… here they are:

How to beat your husband book cover

If you are married: You have to take your wife’s permission about everything
If you are single: Forget rational second thought, buy that sport car!

If you are married: You have to talk to her, more importantly, you must listen
If you are single: You simply just go to sleep.

If you are married: Better start forgetting about all your friends
If you are single: More time with friends hanging out

If you are married: Must buy her gifts and take her out every once and a while
If you are single: Save money and spend it on your new sport car

If you are married: You have to please your wife, mother inlaw, and your own mother… or else you life is going to be hell
If you are single: You only have to please your mother

If you are married: Half your house is hers the day you sign that marriage contract.
If you are single: Your house is yours… you decorate it (or dont) the way you want to

If you are married: No more can you say “I decided to … “
If you are single: You are free to make your own decisions

If you are married: Must be super cautious what to say in front of your wife
If you are single: You are in no danger of dealing with swing moods

If you are married: In every argument you have to hear “You never done any good to me”
If you are single: You can screw up and still be happy.

If you are married: You look for single brothers to hook them up
If you are single: You look for married brothers to hook you up

If you are married: You are prohibited from eating any fattening food
If you are single: You can easily entertain the thought of having a second wife

If you are married: You must wait, patiently must I add, for her to get dressed for a wedding
If you are single: You are in control of your time

I can keep going.. and going.. but to tell you all the truth… all those issues that are mentioned above are just too trivial when you go home and find your wife smiling and waiting for you.

Just having this companionship is a major need for men that cant be fulfilled by hanging out with “the guys”…

Finally… I will quote the hadith of my beloved prophet :
الدنيـا متـاع وخيـر متاعـها المـرأة الصالحـة
“The whole world is to be enjoyed but the best thing in this world is a pious woman”
