About Me

Assalamu Alaykom,

My name is Haytham Soliman. I was born in Houston Texas and raised in Alexandria Egypt. I came back to the United States in November of 1999. I graduated with honors from Texas Southern University with a bachelors of science in Chemistry, and currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

My mother is Hanaa Gamal who graduated from Al-Azhar University in Egypt with a bachelors in Tafseer and Quranic Sciences. She has completed all coursework for her masters in Tafseer and Quranic Sciences and is currently working on her thesis.

In the past four years I volunteered for the following organizations:

1- Texas Dawah Convention:
I started with them as an Ansaari first (they call their volunteers Ansaar), then as an organizer, then currently I am a board member.

2- AlMaghrib Institute in Houston, Qabeelat Hosna.
I first served as a Marketing coordinator, then as the Ameer (president of student body). I served for almost 2 years and then I passed the torch to my VP. Lets hope inshaAllah he takes it to the next level. Ameen

3- Crescent Youth.
I first served as a volunteer, then I was assigned as a moderator to their message board, then as an admin to the message board. I then was a coordinator to Mission Bend Masjid (Masjid Hamza), then as a consultant. Alhamdulillah, I passed all these important tasks to younger more motivated brothers and sisters mashaAllah.

I studied under and befriended Shaykh Waleed Basyouni PhD, and I am proud to call him my shaykh. I didn’t only learn Islam from him, but I learned (akhlaaq) manners and how to deal with people. MashaAllah, he studied under Shaykh Bin Baaz and other great shiyook. He is currently the VP and one of the Instructors of AlMaghrib Institute,TDC Director, Imam of CLIC, Instructor at American Open University ,AlKauthar and Arees Institute mashaAlalh

Loool, marriage ad. Proving that you have chemistry eh? *Wink*. I slept through it all junior year (it was first period and wallah the teacher is SO monotonous-he gave me an A in citizenship one 6 weeks cause I asked like 2 questions. I think he was happy someone was awake LOL), though some of it is interesting. Experiments are the funnest part obviously. And your mom is awesome mashaAllah, maybe I’ll “bump into her” at TDC. She’s gonna be talking about some stalker freak walking around with a Qur’an loool.

    As-salaamu alaykum

I came over to your blog from a link at MM, after reading an article you wrote on cheating muslim spouses (specifically wives). I thought it was a really interesting and beneficial post, and unfortunately the comments for that post were closed. You don’t have to leave this comment up on your blog here, but I thought it was incredibly helpful to see advice geared specifically towards to problem of women committing zina which sometimes is not at all the same as men committing zina. I feel bad for all the flak you got from your audience when really you were trying to address a problem that is mostly under the rug.

    As Salamu alaykum,

I needed to post a request for our brothers and sisters and found this website as one of the suitable one insha Allah, but dear brother/sister, pls dont get offended for my post/comment. I am in desperate need of financial help for Ilmsummit, and if you could post this request for me or help in spreading the word, I pray that Allah SWT bestows you and all those who help this program a reality, with the best of both worlds.Aamen.

I dont know if I will be in US for how long until we return to India, hence I am trying to use this opportunity to learn the best from the best insha Allah. Pls support my cause of reaching the IlmSummit program. Pls visit http://helpursister.wordpress.com for more info. Pls help spread the word and raise funds, JZK.

  17. Fathimah Says:

Shaykha Hana Gamal is your mom? How cool! I wish I knew that when I was at Ilm Summit. Is she still working for Arees?
MashAllah, may Allah preserve her and you!
